David was also an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling.He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gilbert; his parents, William & Thelma Gilbert; four siblings, Jerry Gilbert, Jeanie Riddle, Larry Gilbert, Lynne Sims and Bill Gilbert.Survivors include two children, Anita Hammond, Michael Gilbert; four grandchildren, Nicholas Hammond, Chase Hammond, Logan Gilbert, Autumn Gilbert; three great grandchildren, Keller Hammond, Arlinn Hammond, Sorin Hammond; two siblngs, Patricia Sharkey, Barbara Skees; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home.Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home.
