Lassiter and the late Lydia Cortijo Gibbs, was born on January 29, 1955, in Bronx, New York. He departed this life on March 2, 2026, at his home in Newport News, Virginia.Charles. affectionately known as "Chase," received his education through the New York Public School System and graduated in 1973 from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, New York.In his carly twenties. Chase relocated to the Norfolk, Virginia area, where he began working on ships and later as a heavy equipment operator. Over the years, he also worked in construction, painting houses, installing drywall, and performing various other jobs within the construction industry.Family and friends will always remember Chase for his love of music, playing basketball, cooking, and spending time with his beloved children, to whom he was deeply devoted.Chase leaves to cherish his memory: one son, DeAndre Callahan of Newport News. Virginia; one daughter, India Lassiter of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Bria and Alyssa Callahan of Germantown, Maryland, and Chase Washington of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Rev. Lloyd (Gloria) Lassiter, also known as "Butchie," of Blythewood, South Carolina; one sister, Minister LindaLassiter, also known as "Snooky," of Baldwin, New York; seven nieces, three nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.It is the desire of the Lassiter family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.The family of Mr. Charles W.
