Mr. Alan Grant Atkinson

Alan Grant Atkinson, age 81, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A man of deep Baptist faith, Alan served his country in the Army before retiring from a long career as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service and from the United States Air National Guard. He was a true American patriot whose quiet dedication left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Clint Atkinson, and step-grandchild Londyn Grea Thrasher.

Alan is survived by his loving wife, Melody Gregory Paquin; son, Craig (Kim) Atkinson; step-children, Patricia Ann Norvelle and Crystal (Michelle) Thrasher; brother, Mark (Kathy) Atkinson; sister, Lynn Atkinson Cook; eight step-grandchildren, Erik Norvelle, Bruce Lee William Lucas, Christopher Brian Lucas, Syd Thrasher, Berklee Thrasher, Genesis Diana Thrasher, Avery Wren Thrasher, and Madison Shea Thrasher; and three step-great-grandchildren, Bryson Lucas, Jaysun Lucas, and Aiden Lucas. A memorial service will be held at a later date once Melody has recovered from the accident.
