Mossie Carol Fultz, 80, of Elizabethtown, passed away at her residence on March 10, 2026.

Born on April 28, 1945, in Seymour, Indiana, Mossie graduated from North Vernon High School with the Class of 1963. She continued her education at Versailles Tech School, Ivy Tech, and Franklin College of Nursing. On August 26, 1978, she married Phillip Warren Fultz, who preceded her in death on October 29, 2009. Mossie dedicated more than fifty years to a nursing career, working at Franklin Hospital and Muscatatuck State Hospital, and helping to found Rescue 69 in Versailles. She later retired in Florida. A woman of deep faith, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Madison and Christ Baptist Church in North Vernon, and she also belonged to the American Legion in Florida. She found joy in listening to music, dancing, boating on the ocean, cooking chili, watching racing, driving cars, painting vehicles, and serving as a score keeper at Twin City.

Mossie is survived by her daughters, Lisa Slimko of Florida, Christy Fox of Hurst, Texas, and Kathy (Jeff) Burton of Elizabethtown; her sister, Loretta Ponsler of North Vernon; nineteen grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sons Dewey and James Holman, and her brothers Ross Newman, Edward “Butch” Wooddell, John Newman, and Henry Jr. Hudson.
