Moo null ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hamel-Lydon Chapel & Cremation Service of Massachusetts on Mar. 7, 2026.It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mom, grandmother, bakbak and friend, Moo Kuon Moy She passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 at the age of 95.Moo Kuon was the youngest of four children of Doo Fong and Ting Kin (Chin) Gee.She married Sun Moy in post war China. They were part of the Toisanese population who immigrated to the Boston area in the 1950's where they built their lives.Mother of Linda Moy, Edward (Ngan Sun) Moy, Thomas Moy and Agnes (Robert C) Wahlert. Devoted Grandmother of Robert J (Esther) Wahlert, Rachel Wahlert, Amy Moy and Brandon Moy. Loving BakBak of Riley Wahlert.Moo Kuon loved cooking, gardening and sewing, but her greatest joy was her family. That deep love inspired her to take up traveling.Despite having limited English skills, Moo Kuon often flew alone to visit her son, Edward, in California and Maryland. Her solo adventures weren't always smooth-she occasionally forgot to stay on the plane during layovers or would fall asleep during a delay, waking up and mistakenly deplaning, thinking she had arrived at her desired destination. These travel mishaps never fazed her, in fact, they often became the source of funny family stories. Moo Kuon was known for her warm, infectious smile, which helped her overcome language barriers. Her smile was particularly helpful when she traveled. Whether she needed a cellphone or airport assistance, she easily won over fellow travelers and airport staff with her sweet smile. So when she took an unexpected detour, she was never lost for long-just briefly off-course. With her son, Thomas, as her companion Moo Kuon traveled to Minnesota, Florida, Shanghai and Madrid to visit Agnes. When not traveling, Moo Kuon was the constant errant sidekick of her daughter and best friend Linda. Her easy going nature is one of the most endearing things about Moo Kuon. Despite the cruelty of dementia and a debilitating stroke, she always maintained her sweet disposition.Though we miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing our Mom is reunited with our Pop. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and in the memories, she gave us -full of kindness, hilarious stories, and great meals.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her Visiting Hours* on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre Street, Newton. Casket Closing ceremony to begin at 11:00am followed by a procession to Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
