Misty George

Misty George, 50, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

Born Misty Dawn Chappel on December 15, 1975, she spent her life in Jonesboro. From a young age she could be found cutting the hair of her baby dolls and Barbies, and she turned that childhood passion into a lifelong career. After attending beauty school, she began working in 1998 and built a thriving salon business. Her clients came from across state lines and quickly became an extended family to her.

Misty cherished travel, whether it was family beach trips, following her son to archery competitions across the country, attending video game conventions, or taking special anniversary journeys with her husband. She was always planning the next adventure. Above all, she loved God and her family fiercely. A devoted member of Nettleton Baptist Church, she served on a mission trip with the youth, remained active in her Sunday School class, and looked forward to working with young adults in the future.

She is survived by her husband, Brad George, and her son, Will; her sister, Tonya Chappel of Jonesboro; her brother, Scott (Cheryl) Chappel of Bauxite; her brother-in-law, Tony (Karla) George of Newport; nephew Brayden Chappel and niece Laci Chappel of Bauxite; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Sandra Chappel of Jonesboro, and her in-laws, Sue George of Newport and Jack George of Vilonia.
