Misty Dawn Parsons

July 6, 1963 March 9, 2026

Caney, KS

Misty Dawn Parsons, lovingly known as Mistymouse, Mom, Mama, Ma, and Mother, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 62. A longtime resident of Caney, Kansas, Misty was born on July 6, 1963, in Evansville, Indiana, to Hilda Pauline Gipson. She graduated from Southwest High School with the Class of 1981 and carried throughout her life a spirited personality and a deep love for those around her.

On February 16, 2019, Misty married Melvin Parsons, the love of her life. They shared many happy adventures together, especially the times she rode along with him in the truck. Her greatest pride and joy remained her family. She was the devoted mother of four children and cherished her role as grandmother, which began in 2003. Her grandchildren filled her life with laughter and meaning.

Misty found simple pleasures in baking sweet treats for her loved ones, spending time with her children and grandchildren, fishing, and playing bingo. In 2025 she proudly purchased her first home, a milestone that reflected her strength and determination. A woman of faith, she was a member of Tyro Christian Church and was baptized in 2021, an experience that brought her deep peace.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Gipson; her aunt, Jan Villegas; and her aunt, Barb Robertson. Misty is survived by her devoted husband, Melvin Parsons; her children, Amber Cranor (Philip) of Tyro, Brent Schueler (Sara) of Dewey, Chad Schueler (Brenda) of Sand Springs, and Michael Grossman (Mark) of Henderson, Kentucky; and her cherished grandchildren, Makenzi, Cadence, Tanner, Jaxson, Harper, Ethan, Addy, Axel, Gunner, and Daygon. She is also survived by her twin sister, Christy Perez of Granbury, Texas; sister, Benecia Rienstra of Idaho; brother, Joey Moriarty of Connecticut; and many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her loving heart and the warmth she brought to their lives.
