Miranda Owen

Portland, CT

Miranda Maria Owen, 26, of Portland, Connecticut, passed away on February 3, 2026. Born in Meriden, Connecticut on June 5, 1999, she was the beloved wife of Ryan Owen and the cherished daughter of Jennifer (Cyphers) Carlone. She was the treasured granddaughter of Frank and Nilda (Diaz) Cyphers, the loving sister of Ashleigh Daniels, and the special niece of Frank Cyphers. Miranda was dearly loved by her godparents, Sal and Anne DiCostanzo, as well as by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Squishy, Little One, Baby Girl, Milo, Maya, and Miller. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Warren Carlone.

Miranda will be remembered first and foremost for her authenticity and her courage to stand up for what she believed in. Her kind heart, thoughtful nature, and rare ability to make others feel truly seen and heard left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Deeply committed to creating safe spaces for people to be themselves, she dedicated her life to helping others find and use their voices. She graduated with highest honors from CT River Academy in East Hartford in 2017 and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts in 2021, where she was inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. At the time of her passing, she was nearing completion of her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling with a concentration in advanced trauma-informed counseling. Bay Path University will award her the degree posthumously in recognition of her academic excellence, her dedication to her clients, and the meaningful impact she had already made. She was completing her internship at Seed Sowing Sistahs, LLC in Tampa, Florida, where she had been working for the past two years.

Outside of her studies and work, Miranda found joy in cooking, often creating delicious vegan and non-vegan recipes in her kitchen. She loved the outdoors and cherished hiking in the woods with her husband Ryan. Above all, she had a lifelong passion for books. From the time she learned to read, a book was rarely far from her side. Her personal library, spanning many genres, was a true reflection of her curious and vibrant spirit.

Miranda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
