Minnie Lee Rolark, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born on February 18, 1949, in Lexington, Mississippi, to the late Minnie Lee Simmons and William Lee Wright, she grew up with a deep commitment to education and service to others.
Minnie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Jackson State College in Mississippi. She later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she met and married Gregory Rolark in 1972. Together they raised two daughters, Robin Lauren Rolark and Jessica Lee Rolark, who were the center of her world. In 1992, Minnie relocated with her daughters to Gainesville, Florida. There she began her long career with Alachua County Community Support Services, eventually becoming Director. Known for her compassion and dedication, she spent years helping individuals and families in need throughout the community.
A faithful member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church for more than thirty years, Minnie lived her life guided by her strong faith, kindness, and generosity. She is survived by her daughters, Robin Lauren Rolark and Jessica Lee Rolark; her three grandchildren, Kassandra Alexis Hayes, Ma’Kalua Janiya Hayes, and Zayden Jeremiah Snipstad; her older sister, Sadie Mcbroom; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
