Minnie Ann Valentine

Minnie Ann Eaton Valentine, 94, of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away on March 12, 2026, at The Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington, West Virginia.

Born on December 9, 1931, in Huntington to the late J. Russell and Beatrice Beckett Eaton, Minnie spent her life dedicated to education and family. She retired as a teacher with the Cabell County Board of Education and was a longtime member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Pete” Valentine, and her brother, William “Bill” Eaton.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jane Pickens (Rick) and Karl Valentine (Janice); three grandchildren, Jessica Valentine Ziebell, Tom Pickens, and Mike Pickens; and three great-grandchildren, Walter, Oliver, and Camden Ziebell.

The family extends deep gratitude to Hospice of Huntington and the caring staff at The Woodlands Retirement Community for their compassionate support during her final days. A graveside service will be held at a future date at Rome-Proctorville Cemetery, where Minnie will be laid to rest beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal rescue of one’s choice or to Hospice of Huntington.
