Kingsville, TX
Minerva A. Cueva, age 65, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on February 22, 1961, in Robstown, Texas, to Federico and Trinidad Cueva, she spent many years serving as a dietician at Christus Spohn Hospital before retiring. Minerva was known for her caring spirit and her quiet dedication to helping others through her work.
She found joy in simple pleasures—playing Lotería with family, listening to music, and dancing even while driving. Minerva had a generous heart, always making sure everyone around her had something to eat, and she shared whatever she had without hesitation. Honest and direct in her words, she never missed watching her beloved Cowboys and often dreamed of her next trip to Coushatta with her dear friend Vilma. Above all, she cherished her family and friends, whom she affectionately called her “chingos.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Federico and Trinidad Cueva; six brothers, Federico Jr., Juan, Daniel, Roberto, Arturo, and Joseph Cueva; and two sisters, Antonia Puente and Maria Villarreal.
Minerva is survived by her two daughters, Estefana (Marde) Ortiz-Trimble of Allen, Texas, and Patricia Ortiz of Kingsville, Texas; and her three beloved grandchildren, Jonah (Justine), Haloti, and Samari. She also leaves behind six sisters, Teresa Villarreal, Estella Hall, Bertha Martinez, Irma Puentes, Adelmira Lozano, and Terri Cueva; two brothers, Rene Cueva and Felix Cueva; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.
