Min. Johnnie Mae Miller, widow of the late Curby Mays, Jr., passed away peacefully at her residence in Sumter on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born on October 30, 1954, in Manning, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Thames Miller and the late Johnnie Mae Cooper Benbow.
She lived a life rooted in faith and family, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that touched all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by those she cherished.
A service celebrating her life was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. from the Fleming & DeLaine Chapel in Manning, with Apostle Jerimiah Blanding of True Ministries Full Gospel Church of Augusta, Georgia, presiding. The Rev. Robert E. Gibson, pastor of the True Word Missionary Baptist Church in Paxville, brought words of comfort. Interment followed in the family plot at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in the Ram Bay Community of Manning.
