March 8, 1948— March 11, 2026
Utica, MI
Milos Saravolatz, born March 8, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on March 13, 2026. The oldest son of Samuel and Betty Saravolatz, he earned a degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University while working in his father’s grocery store. In 1976, he founded his own financial services company, which sustained his family until his retirement in 2020.
Deeply committed to his Serbian Orthodox faith and community, Milos served for many years as president of Ravanica Church in Detroit, as Vice-President of the Mid-Western Serbian Orthodox Diocese, as past president of the Golden Circle Kiwanis Club in Shelby Township, and as a Shriner in the Masonic organization. In recognition of his dedication and generosity to the Serbian Orthodox Church, he was awarded the St. Sava medal by Bishop Longin.
Milos’s life was transformed in 1970 when he met the love of his life, Anne Loncar, at a Serbian golf tournament in Windsor, Ontario. They married in 1973 and shared a 53-year journey together, creating a loving home and raising three children. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, his face lighting up as he searched for their “tickle button.” He and Anne cherished family summers at Canadian Lakes, exploring the woods with the children each year, and looked forward to their annual escapes together to their favorite place. An avid golfer, Milos treasured the camaraderie of his golf league friends and the stories that grew from every round.
Milos is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Dushanka (Vojo) Bojicic, son Sam (Liz) Saravolatz, four grandchildren—Saya, Shane, Zorka, and Milutin—and two great-grandchildren, Milos and Mila. He is also survived by his brother Lou (Yvette) Saravolatz and family, sister Debbie (Dave) Saravolatz, sister-in-law Milica Filipic and family, along with many cousins, kumovi, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Annie, parents Samuel and Betty Saravolatz, in-laws Mile and Stana Loncar, and brother-in-law Tim Filipic.
