Mildred Edwina Deschner
January 25, 1935— March 5, 2026
Cheyenne, WY
Mildred Edwina (Moore) Deschner, 91, died of natural causes at her home in Cheyenne, WY on March 5, 2026, surrounded by family.
Edwina was born on January 25,1935 to Miller and Edna May (Chew) Moore in Galena, KS. She and her brother, Jimmy Ray, grew up in Galena surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins who regularly gathered for activities and family meals. Her strong family ties were a continuous thread throughout her life.
She met Robert Dale Deschner in 1957 in Wichita, KS. They married on April 3, 1959, and moved to Loveland, CO in 1960 where they started their family, having three children, Judy Renae, Jeffrey Dale, and Janet Gay. Their love of the mountains, plains, and vegetable and flower gardening brought joy to them throughout their lives.
Edwina modeled gentle Christian values and self-sufficient country living while teaching her children strong moral values, growing vegetables and preserving them by canning and freezing, animal care, and to be adults that contribute to society.
Edwina’s full life included raising her three children, providing them with an exceptional education including an expansive home library, owning, and operating a thrift store, and annually having a pop-up fruit stand selling seasonal fruit she purchased in Palisade CO and sold in Loveland CO. She would take her kids and drive over Loveland Pass (no Eisenhower tunnel on I-70) to the western slope, purchase produce, and return to Loveland in one day. She loved music including the Sons of the Pioneers, Johnny Cash, and their contemporaries and camping in the Roosevelt and White River National Forests.
She was a talented artist who created beautiful ceramic pottery and oil paintings of mountains, rivers, flower gardens, and animals.
Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death in 2022. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Ray Moore, children Judy Cvetkovich (spouse Ben Cvetkovich), Jeff Deschner, and Janet Hofmann (spouse Ken Sharp), four grandchildren Jenelle Marie Deschner, Gregory Dale Deschner, Cynthia Renae Hofmann, and Lawrence Eugene Hofmann Jr (spouse Victoria Mackenzie Buell Hofmann) and two great grandchildren, Jonna Elizabeth Hofmann and Nora Mackenzie Hofmann.
Edwina requested there be no funeral or memorial service. She wanted everyone to remember her as she was the last time they visited each other. The family had a private viewing and farewell. In lieu of flowers and cards, please donate to your favorite charity.
