Mildred Caldwell "Mickey" Shepherd

Mildred "Mickey" Caldwell Shepherd, 91, of Blacksburg, Virginia, died on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born in Montgomery County, Virginia, on November 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ernest H. and Annie Bell Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Shepherd; her sister, Thelma L. Collins; and her brothers, J. Kent Caldwell, Ernest H. Caldwell, Jr., and Emmett A. Caldwell.

Mickey retired from A&P and Wades Supermarket after years of dedicated service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her family and touched the lives of many in her community with her warmth and kindness.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gala and Calvin Price; granddaughters, Heather Scalia (Jack) and Samantha Price (Jeffery Clark); and special family members Evelyn and Danny McGlothlin, Becky and Ervin Williams, David Bailey, Delores Wall, Arnita and John Perfater, Machell and Jay Schmolitz, along with many other relatives and close friends.
