Mikey Lyn Locklear of Shannon, North Carolina, was born in Robeson County on July 23, 2002, and passed away on March 11, 2026. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, and best friend whose warm presence touched everyone around him.
Mikey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mike Cranie; his maternal aunt, Whitney Locklear; his maternal uncle, William Locklear; and his paternal grandmother, Betty Locklear.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tristen Beth Locklear; his parents, Erica and Phillip Locklear; and his brothers, Phillip C. Locklear (Amy), Micheal Locklear (Shona), and Harley Locklear (Jaylin). He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Zina Locklear; his paternal grandparents, Welton “Nub” Locklear and Betty Jane Scott; and his great-grandparents, Darlene and Charles Carter, and Mack and Lorraine Locklear.
Mikey leaves behind special aunts Irlene Locklear and Delina Locklear, as well as aunts and uncles Ashley Locklear and Adam Rozier, Robin and Kelly Lowery, Charlotte Harris, Maxie Hammonds, and Tommy and Jamie Carter. He is also survived by many cousins, including Aubrey and Aiden Rozier, along with a host of other loved ones. He cherished his niece, Sophia Locklear, and his nephew, Ashton “Bubba” Locklear, and shared a special bond with his best friend, Cameron Locklear.
Mikey loved riding his motorcycle and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting with his father, brothers, and friends. He adored his dogs and treasured every moment spent with family and friends, especially those filled with food, laughter, and fellowship. A faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, he participated in the Brotherhood and Discipleship program. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he formed lifelong friendships. After his military service, he worked as a mechanic at Taylor Sudden Service in Hope Mills, where his coworkers became like family.
Mikey Lyn Locklear’s life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
