Mike Makosky

Michael Makosky of Branford passed away on March 12, 2026, at Connecticut Hospice following a long illness. Born in Branford on April 17, 1950, he was the son of the late Alfonse Makosky and Dorothea Cudgma Makosky.

A 1968 graduate of Branford High School, Mike played on the football team and earned All-Housatonic honors. He went on to graduate from Milford Academy Prep and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, later serving as a veteran in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked as an ironworker welder with Mohawk Construction through Local 424. In his free time, he found joy in flying kites and riding bikes and motorcycles.

Mike is survived by his brother, Peter Makosky of Branford, and his nephew, Christopher Makosky of Raleigh, North Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Thomas Patrick Makosky.
