Mickey McNeese

Bruce “Mickey” Mitchell McNeese, age 81, of Cohutta, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the local hospital.

A decorated Vietnam veteran, Mickey served in the United States Army and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, and several Purple Hearts. After his military service, he worked for many years as a welder and fabricator with Perpetual Machine, where his strong work ethic and dedication were widely respected.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vera Ellen Myers McNeese; his parents, Bruce and Minnie Morgan McNeese; his sister, Judy Frost; and his brothers, Joe McNeese and Hoyt McNeese.

Mickey is survived by his son, Brian and Kyrihe McNeese of Cohutta; his sisters, Ruth McNeese of Dalton and Daisie Bruce of Dalton; his sister-in-law, Betty McNeese; his dear friend Loretta Dills; his beloved dog, Millie; and several nieces and nephews.
