Michele McPheron ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Pyle Funeral Home - Johnston City on Mar. 17, 2026.Michele Jenè "Missy" McPheron, 57, of Marion, passed away at 7:07 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2026, at her home.Missy was born on August 10, 1968, in Carbondale to Charles A. and Sally (Carlton) Nagreski. A 1986 graduate of Benton High School, Missy went on to attend Southern Illinois University- Carbondale, where she earned her bachelor's degree. Missy was currently employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Marion.On June 29, 1991, Missy married the love of her life, George McPheron, at the First United Methodist Church in Benton. Together they shared 34 years of marriage and built a loving family. They were blessed with two boys, Austin and Josh. Being a mother was her greatest joy. She was a proud and devoted baseball mom who loved supporting her boys in whatever sport they were playing.Missy enjoyed life's simple pleasures. In the spring, she looked forward to planting flowers and in the summer she enjoyed laying in the pool and spending time outdoors. She was known as a wonderful hostess who loved welcoming friends and family into her home and making sure everyone left well-fed. Missy also enjoyed taking walks around Arrowhead Lake with her friends, Melisa and Dana. She had a special love for animals, especially her dog Remi, and her adopted cats, Graysie, Blackie, and Yellow.She is survived by her husband, George McPheron of Marion; two sons, Austin McPheron of Marion and Josh (fiancé, Haley) of Marion; mother, Sally (Carlton) Nagreski of Benton; sister, Cheri Jo (partner, Diane Sanders) Nagreski of Johnston City; father and mother-in-law, Geroge and Carolyn McPheron of Johnston City; sister-in-law, Tammy (Tom) Richard of Johnston City; several cousins, Lisa (Bruce) Warner of Pacific Grove, CA, Rachel (Doug) Abrams of Santa Cruz, CA, and Jeffrey (Rita) Carolton of Marietta, Georgia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Nagreski; maternal grandparents; Donald and Irene Carlton; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Geneva Nagreski.A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Pastor Jason McKinnies officiating.Pyle Funeral Home of Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
