Michele (Duffy) Gloss, 83, of Fairview, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born in Erie on December 29, 1942, to the late Francis and Myrtal (Smite) Duffy, Michele grew up attending St. Andrew’s School before earning her cosmetology license at Erie County Technical School.
Soon after graduation, she married the love of her life, Gene Gloss Sr., on June 10, 1966, and together they built a family. She worked as a hairdresser for several years before joining Kaufmann’s Department Store, where she spent more than two decades. Her keen artistic eye and talent for creating striking visual displays left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Michele was admired for her exceptional planning skills, organizing memorable trips and vacations across the United States. She also loved hosting large gatherings at their home in Fairview, transforming the space with elaborate seasonal and holiday decorations that reflected her creative spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Gloss Sr., and her three sisters, Patricia Miller, Betty Money, and Marline Duffy. Michele will be deeply missed by her son, Eugene (Ray) Gloss II and his wife Dawn; her daughter, Tammy Woinelowicz and her husband Mark; and her four grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Ryan, and Matthew Woinelowicz.
