Michela Stevens-Kolaski ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Michela Stevens-Kolaski, née Caliri, 84, of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026.With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.Born in Messina, Sicily, Michela came to the United States as a child and built a life centered on family, resilience, and love. She was a proud mother of her three sons, Michael (Renee), Leon, and John Paul (Catherine), who were, without question, her greatest accomplishment and the center of her world.She will be remembered for her love of shopping, her joy in gardening, and the way she was always there for family and friends. She had a generous heart, a strong spirit, and a presence that made people feel cared for and loved.Michela is survived by her children; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley and Jonathan; a grandchild on the way; her sister, Mary (Tony); her brother, Sam (Marie); her sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Louis); and her former husband, Dennis Stevens. She was also a fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Giuseppe "Joseph" Caliri; her brother, Louis Caliri; and her former husband, Dennis Kolaski.Her life was defined by devotion, humor, perseverance, and love. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew her.Visitation will be held at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 N. York Street, Elmhurst, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the prayer service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life luncheon.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
