Michael Wayne Worley

Michael Wayne Worley, 76, of Lubbock, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on August 1, 1949, in Levelland to Harold Cecil Worley and Velma Alice McElhannon Worley, Mike grew up in Levelland and graduated from Levelland High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1971 to 1972. In 1974, he founded Worley Welding Works, a business he owned and operated with pride for nearly five decades. A devoted supporter of Texas Tech and South Plains College, he remained an enthusiastic booster throughout his life.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Velma Worley, and his brother, Phil Worley.

He is survived by his son, Chad Worley and wife Hollie of Leander, Texas; his daughter, Rae Lyn Worley Chenault of Kingwood, Texas; grandsons Cole Worley, Tyler Worley, Luke Worley, and Ridge Chenault; his sister, Mary Borland and husband Glen; and several nieces and nephews.
