Michael Cliver ObituaryPublished by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 17, 2026.Michael W. "Mike" Cliver, 73, of Monrovia and formerly of Brazil, was granted peace from his earthly pain, after a lengthy battle with Lewey Body Dementia, in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 14, 2026. He was born in Brazil on January 8, 1953, to the late Orville Wayne and Doris Elaine (Testy) Cliver. The oldest of two kids, and the only son, Mike grew up in Brazil and was the typical older brother who found great amusement in getting his little sister, Debbie, into trouble. Athletic by nature, he played basketball and baseball for Van Buren High School where he proudly graduated with the class of 1971. Driven to better himself, and civic minded from a young age, Mike played a key role in the Brazil Jaycees, serving as vice president and was awarded the President's Award for his work as the chairman of Clothe-A-Child drive, as well as treasurer of the organization. Furthering his education, Mike spent two semesters at Indiana State University, then earned his associates degree in electronics from Indiana Vocational Technical College and was one credit shy of earning his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree at IUPUI. His education led to several job prospects, such as a talented broadcast engineer/camera man for WIIL-TV 38, WBAK-TV38, and WRTV Channel 6. Ultimately, he gained employment as a telecommunications specialist for Indiana Bell Telephone in 1990, and he devoted 25 years to the company, retiring in 2015. Meeting his future wife, PJ, while at Indiana Bell, the two dated for seven years, until he finally convinced her to marry him on August 21, 2004. Evenly matched in the stubborn department, they figured out how to make it work and spent the next 21 and a half years as a team, tackling all of life's trials and tribulations together. The pair enjoyed traveling, and wind therapy on Mike's 1990 Harley Davidson Soft Tail. He found great pleasure in hunting and sometimes throwing a line in the water. He loved children and regularly got on the nieces and nephews' level to play with them. Most proud of his family, Mike was one-of-a-kind and will be forever missed by those near and dear to his heart.Mike leaves behind his wife, Priscilla "PJ" (Manning) Cliver of Monrovia; step sons, Donovan Johnson of Monrovia, and Robert Michael Johnson of Greenwood; sister, Debbie Emery (Charlie) of Brazil; grandson, Taylor Hayes Johnson (Kaitlyn Hunter) of Franklin; nieces, Stephanie Nuckols (Steve), Becky Sutherland (Matt), and Lacy Conder (Brad), all of Brazil; along with several great nieces and nephews.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:30am until 1:30 pm at the funeral home, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 1:30pm. Pastor Keenan Steinway will officiate, and burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Mike's memory by mail to Lewey Body Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047, or by clicking https://lbda.org/, and envelopes will be provided during services.
