Michael Camacho, 66, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2026. A devoted father, grandfather, and family man, Michael brought laughter, warmth, and comfort to everyone around him. He worked as a chef, a role that reflected his deep love of bringing people together. Whether through a shared meal, music, or his larger-than-life personality, he had a special gift for making others feel welcome. Michael cherished the outdoors, motorcycle rides, and music, and was known for his humor and vibrant spirit that lit up any room with laughter and unforgettable stories.
Above all, Michael was a protective and deeply loving father and grandfather whose family was the center of his world. He took great pride in each of them and expressed his affection through the special nicknames he gave, ensuring they always knew how cherished they were. One of his favorite sayings, “One day at a time,” reflected the way he lived—appreciating each moment and encouraging those around him to keep moving forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jovencio Camacho and Matilda Camacho, and his siblings, Gilbert Camacho, Bobby Camacho, Jovencio Camacho Jr., Dora Mendez, Norma Baez, and Mary Serna.
Michael is lovingly survived by his children and grandchildren—Amanda “Tilly,” Malik “My Boy,” Milo “Chiquito,” Malik Holmes Jr. “Mr. Spanky,” Debra, Arlando, Kali, and Jazzy—as well as his siblings Richard Camacho, Martha Villareal, and Eloisa Morin. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He will be remembered for his humor, strength, big heart, and the love he shared so freely.
