He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas "Tom" H. Schmittler and Betty Jo Schmittler (Dotts); and his brother Mark Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Schmittler; his children, Sarah Wilson (Brad), Brian Lehman and Matthew Lehman (Debra); his grandchildren, Ivan, Ivy, Madilynn and Malachi Lehman; and his brother Tommy Schmittler.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vienna Baptist Church (11 W Leota Rd, Scottsburg, IN 47170).
Memorial donations can be made in Mike's name to Scott County Humane Society or Vienna Baptist Church in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
