Michael Barnhart ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 6, 2026.Michael was born on November 30th, 1979 in Yakima and spent most of his life here.He attended West Valley High School and then moved to Vancouver, WA and attended ITT in Portland, OR. He only attended ITT for a short while before transferring to Clark College in Vancouver, WA. From there he graduated, with honors, with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology and one in Manufacturing Systems Maintenance Technology. Along with several certifications in related subjects.Michael held several jobs in his field as a Field Service Technician. Some that took him all over the United States and some that took him to many other countries.Michael was quite active throughout his life and enjoyed several activities such as riding motorcycles, camping, shooting crossbows, and above all, working on and rebuilding cars. Of which a 67' Firebird and 68' Camaro were 2 of his greatest accomplishments.Michael was diagnosed with Liposarcoma Cancer in the fall of the year of 2021. He fought several battles over the next 5 years. But as of late February 2026 he lost the fight.Michael never married, but he did have a very special canine companion named Jake. But Jake passed in 2022, while Michael was away in Spokane having his rather large tumor removed. And then later on he adopted another dog, Duke.God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me." With tearful eyes I watched you and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not ask you to stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the best.He is survived by his parents, Ray and Judy Barnhart, his sisters, Kelly (Barnhart) Ball and Shanna Barnhart, one nephew, Jaiden Barnhart, one niece, Mya Ball and his dog Duke.There are no services planned.Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory is caring for the family.
