Michael Raymond Deitch, 69, a beloved mechanic and veteran, was born on July 29, 1956, in Glen Robbins, Ohio, and passed away on March 6, 2026, at U.P.M.C. Montefiore due to complications of the stomach. He dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving others, both through his work and his personal interactions.

Michael was proud to serve in the United States Navy, a commitment that shaped his character and instilled in him a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, he built a respected career as a mechanic at the Ferroni Gas Station on West Market Street in Steubenville and later retired from General Rentel, also located on West Market Street in Steubenville. Known as a jack of all trades, Michael had a talent for fixing cars and considered it one of his proudest accomplishments to help friends in need by performing repairs at no cost.

Education was also important to Michael, who graduated from Grant Junior High. His desire to learn and grow was apparent in his hobbies and interests; he was a member of the Mingo Sportsman's Club and enjoyed building and construction work. These passions allowed him to connect with others and often brought him joy in his spare time.

Michael cherished the camaraderie of his friends, as he particularly enjoyed drinking and sharing stories with them. He left a lasting impression on those who knew him, characterized by his friendly demeanor and practical skills.

He is survived by his loving siblings, Robert and Nola Deitch of Steubenville, brother-in-law Eddy Brewer of Blaine, sister-in-law Betty Deitch of Steubenville, nieces Angela Bilinsky of Yorkville and Holly Deitch of Steubenville, and nephews Todd Bilinsky of Steubenville, Chuck (Korin) Deitch of Oldsmar, FL, and Rick (Jenny) Deitch of Brilliant. He also leaves behind great nieces and nephews, including Abby Bilinsky of Moundsville, Isabel Deitch of Oldsmar, FL, Dylan Bilinsky of Yorkville, and Colden Deitch of Oldsmar, FL. A special note of love is also extended to his adopted mother, Mrs. Jean Ferroni of Steubenville.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Shirley (Albright) Deitch, and by his wife of 30 years, Karen (Starinsky) Deitch. He also mourned the loss of his sisters, Bonnie Brewer and Maggie Deitch, and one brother, Chuck Deitch.

The memory of Michael Raymond Deitch will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, expertise, and friendship will be dearly missed.
