Michael Ray Maddix

Michael Ray Maddix, 78, of New Boston, passed away on March 11, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born on November 2, 1947 in Portsmouth to the late Harold and Della Lewis Maddix, Mike served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. He worked as a salesman at Wil-Car for 25 years before retiring from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. He found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time with those he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister who died in infancy, Beverly Gayle Maddix.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ruth Hood Maddix, two daughters, Michele (Jamie) James of Wheelersburg and Kimberly "Kimmy" Ann (Bryan) Johnson of Lucasville, five grandchildren, Evan (Jennifer) Adkins of West Portsmouth, Emily (Cody Brown) Howard of Wheelersburg, Erin (Garrett) Wheeler of Chesapeake, Eden Howard of Wheelersburg, and Milyn James of Wheelersburg, and seven great-grandchildren.
