Diaz, 76, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the real estate community passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, after a life well-lived.A proud veteran of the Army, Michael served our nation with honor. This spirit of service extended beyond his military commitment into his everyday life, where he embodied generosity and compassion.Michael went on to become a respected real estate broker, dedicating many years of his life to serving clients through his work at Village Realty. His passion for helping others find their dream homes, paired with his expertise as a mortgage broker, made him a trusted advisor in the real estate industry. He proudly served as the past president of the Staten Island Board of Realtors, where his leadership and kindness left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. Above all else, Michael cherished time spent with family and friends. Gatherings, celebrations, and simple moments together brought him the greatest joy. His kindness, warmth, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home.Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Barbara Diaz, Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Georgianna (Taddeo) Diaz; his children Christopher Diaz and his wife Kim, Gregory Diaz, Carl Alioto, Scott Alioto, Christina Batjer and her husband Brian, and Kim Shultz. He was also a doting grandfather, to Sam Diaz, Theresa Diaz, Jonathan Covill, Lucas Batjer and Ryan Batjer, finding joy and fulfillment in every moment shared with his grandchildren. Michael also leaves behind his brother Joseph Diaz and his wife Marilyn, and Anthony Diaz and his wife Beverly, his sisters-in-law Maria Paladino and her husband Tom, and Helen, wife of the late Frank Taddeo. In addition, Michael has many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and countless friends. HIs warm heart and love for family were evident in his everyday actions, from sharing delightful meals and culinary adventures to traveling with those he cherished.Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.Cremation services will be held privately.He will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the unwavering support he provided to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
