Michael P. DeGregorio, 95, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of Rachel DeGregorio and the late Lorraine Mangler DeGregorio. Born in New Haven on January 19, 1931, Michael was the son of the late Pietro Paolo and Emanuela Garguilo DeGregorio.

He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army. Michael was the former owner of Dee’s Bait Shop in New Haven and later worked as a machinist for Sandvik Coromant. He found great joy in hunting and fishing, and remained an avid fan of UConn women’s basketball throughout his life.

Michael is survived by his grandchildren Robert (Shannon), Patrick (Amy), and Mia (Andrew), his brother Henry DeGregorio, his sister Antoinette Mangler, six great-grandchildren, and son-in-law Robert Doody. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen DeGregorio Doody, as well as his brothers Joseph, Frank, and Nicholas DeGregorio, his sisters Anna Nowak and Marie Ianniello, his stepmother Theresa DeGregorio, and stepsiblings Louise Pagliucca, Ann, Andrew, and Angelo Giannelli.
