Michael Morris

Michael Morris was born in Minneapolis on July 7, 1950, and passed away on March 11, 2026, after a short battle with pulmonary fibrosis. The son of Joseph and Helen Morris, he grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota, where he attended local schools before graduating with honors from St. Cloud State University with a teaching degree.

Michael dedicated his career to education, teaching in the Minneapolis Public Schools and substituting at Hopkins High School. He was remembered by many as an inspiration to his students, bringing dedication and care to his work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen Morris, and his brother, Jeffrey Charles. Michael is survived by his wife, Laura; sons, Nicholas (Erin) and Alexander; grandchildren, Jack, Mia, Emme, and Ben; and his nieces, nephews, family, and lifelong friends.
