Michael McIntyre

Bradford, PA

Michael McIntyre, 81, of Bradford, passed peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children.

Born in Springville, New York, on April 21, 1944, to his devoted mother, Irene, Michael was one of three brothers. He spent his childhood playing with his brother Robert and the family’s dogs and even a pet raccoon. After attending high school in the Springville area, he went on to Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo. He later devoted more than 30 years of his working life to Signore in Ellicottville, New York.

In a remarkable coincidence that could only be described as fate, Michael met a woman who shared his April 21 birthday. In 1975, he and Cheryl chose that same date for their wedding, a day they affectionately called their “birthiversary.” The couple celebrated 50 beautiful years together in 2025.

An avid outdoorsman, Michael found joy in any activity that took him outside—hunting, fishing, boating, or simply sitting on the back deck watching the birds. He had a deep love for animals, especially cats, and cherished quiet pleasures such as holding hands, taking scenic drives, and enjoying a dish of ice cream before bed. Selfless, affectionate, and quick to laugh, he was utterly devoted to his family, and they to him. Those who knew him will remember to tell the people they love how much they matter, and to do so often.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters Melissa McIntyre (Eddie Deitz) and Megan McIntyre; son Shawn McIntyre; grandson Logan Deitz; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene, and his brothers, James and Robert.
