Michael Lynn Hall

January 1, 1943 March 8, 2026

Murfreesboro, TN

Michael L. Hall of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday evening, March 8, 2026. Born in Nashville on January 1, 1943, he was a lifelong artist and an Army veteran who served three years in Germany from 1962 to 1965. A graduate of Hillsboro High School, Class of 1962, Michael attended Woodmont Grammar School through the eighth grade. He worked as a chef for the Hilton Hotel chain in both Texas and California, where his love of cooking found full expression.

He was devoted to his pets, especially his cat Precious and his German shepherd Zachariah. In recent years he found quiet joy in helping neighbors tend their flower gardens and painting their condos. Above all, Michael loved the Lord and took great pleasure in sharing his faith and favorite scriptures with others. Even during his final year, as his health declined and he required frequent hospitalizations before moving to the VA CLC in Murfreesboro last December, he remained engaged—watching football games and classic movies on the large screen television there.

A fall a few weeks ago led to leg surgery, after which his condition changed dramatically. He was moved first to the ICU and then to hospice, where he quietly slipped away. He is survived by his sister Diane Hall Wright and her husband Richard, his brother Henry T. Hall III, three nieces, two grandnieces, and two grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Henry T. Hall Jr., his mother Margarette G. Hall, his brother Steven Griffin Hall, his nephew Steven Griffin Hall Jr., his step-niece Cherie Wright, and his grand-niece Maitland Harvey.

Michael was deeply loved and will be truly missed. His family cherishes a lifetime of memories of the gentle, creative, and faithful man he was.
