Michael Lloyd Perkins

July 8, 1958 March 6, 2026

Osawatomie, KS

Michael Lloyd Perkins was born on July 8, 1958, to Richard and Margaret (La Page) Perkins in Plattsburg, New York. As a young child, he moved with his family to the Kansas City metro area, where he embraced his role as the oldest brother. The antics he shared with his siblings remained among his favorite stories throughout his life. He graduated from Ruskin High School in 1976.

A true jack of all trades, Mike worked as a diesel mechanic, for the railroad, in roofing, and in maintenance. He owned his own construction business and drove a semi-truck. If he did not already know how to fix something—whether it was a home project, a classic motorcycle, or anything in between—he taught himself. In 2003, he purchased an old Victorian house in Paola, where he met his neighbor Anna. Their relationship grew through shared remodeling projects, trips to Home Depot, and motorcycle rides. They married in 2007 and welcomed their son, Joseph, in 2009. The family moved to a small farm outside Osawatomie in 2018. Mike cherished hosting friends, listening to classic rock, and sharing stories. He formed deep bonds with those closest to him, referring to them as brothers.

Mike is survived by his wife, Anna, and son, Joseph, of the home; his sister, Darcy Dinneny; in-laws David and Christy Levings, and Damian and April Levings; nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Perkins and Margaret and David Perkins Mayville, and his brothers, Steve and Ric Perkins.
