His memory will live on through the love and moments shared with those closest to him.My daddy was everything and more-from a handyman to top-flight security of the world. He was born and raised in Chicago and moved to Louisville 31 years ago, where he met the love of his life, Wendy.Mike Leon never met a stranger. He would stop and talk to anyone. He worked at Olmsted Academy South as a security guard. He loved it so much that he also became the basketball and track coach, spreading positivity, laughter, and encouragement throughout the halls every single day.Mike was known for giving people a good laugh and being all in your business while enjoying his snacks and watching Cops or The First 48. He was our very own "Gossip Girl," always on the phone with his mom, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, and anyone who had a listening ear or could talk just as much as he could. The rest of his time was spent with his favorite people-his grandbabies. From the moment they were born, he wanted them by his side, and that is exactly where they stayed.Mike touched so many lives. He was an amazing man who lived life fully, and it's hard to shorten such a big life and put it on paper. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every laugh, every story, and every moment shared with him.His love, laughter, and spirit will forever live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and everyone lucky enough to have known him.My guy has gained his wings and will be watching over us forever and always.Daddy, thank you for every laugh, every lesson, and every moment.
