Michael Lawrence McGuire

Michael Lawrence McGuire, 18, of Lutherville, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026. With his kind soul, quick wit, and natural ability to make others laugh, Mike touched the lives of everyone around him. He possessed a determined spirit and a genuine curiosity about how things worked. Like his father before him, he held a deep passion for cars and took great joy in working on them. He also loved building and repairing with his hands, whether restoring the wooden merry-go-round built by his great-grandfather or carefully crafting beautiful walking sticks.

Mike embraced adventure and found peace in the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent on family trips to Shenandoah, camping in Western Maryland with friends, fishing at Loch Raven, or visiting Pat’s Folly. He felt most at home surrounded by nature. He attended Towson High School and began a promising career as a plumbing and HVAC apprentice, where his strong work ethic and eagerness to learn quickly earned the respect of those around him.

Though his time was far too short, the warmth and impact Mike left on his family and friends will endure. He is survived by his stepmother, Kathryn Troeschel; stepbrother, Alex Troeschel; grandparents, Ann McGuire, Steve McGuire, and Christina and Paul Troeschel; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick McGuire.
