Michael Jenkins

Michael Jenkins, age 77, of Cerulean, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home in Christian County.

Born in Christian County, Kentucky, on December 21, 1948, Mike was the son of the late Elmo Jackson James and Mary Cornela Gee James and was later adopted by the late James Lee Jenkins and Edna Mildred Cunningham Jenkins. He worked for 12 years with Model Milk Company, then spent 25 years with Pepsi-Cola before retiring. In retirement, he co-owned Lic’s in Hopkinsville for 13 years and later transported vehicles for Toyota of Hopkinsville. He attended Second Baptist Church and was a member of the Bass Club.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy James and David James, and his sisters, Paulette James Francis, Brenda James Taylor, Glenda James Maston, and Terri James Francis.

Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat Jenkins of Cerulean; his sons, Donnie (Tracy) Oliver of Gracey and Michael Jenkins of Pembroke; his daughters, Tina (Jon) Smith of Lexington and Wendy Thompson of Henderson; his sister, Judi (Richard) DeBow of Hopkinsville; seven grandchildren, Drake Oliver, Bryce Moore, Alexis Thompson, Jordan Jenkins, Cody Smith, Dani Smith, and Dalton Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Tate Oliver, Maverick Moore, Brynleigh Shank, Rilyn Slayers, and Khloe Slayers.
