Michael James Klotz
August 22, 1973— March 6, 2026
Moorpark, CA
Michael James Klotz was born on August 22, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2026, in Moorpark, California.
For the last thirty years, Mike worked as a general contractor and ran his own business for twenty-five of those years. A hardworking and dedicated man, he took deep pride in providing for his family and building a stable, good life for them. He loved the outdoors and cherished time spent with his children, whether camping and riding dirt bikes in the desert, boating on the river or lake, or working together on motorcycles, cars, and remote-control toys. He maintained a daily gym routine and stayed active throughout his life.
Mike was a naturally social person who made friends easily and everywhere he went. Conversations at the gym often stretched far longer than planned because people were drawn to his warmth and easy manner. He had a genuine gift for making others feel instantly welcome and valued, as though they had known him for years. Dependable in every sense, he was the friend with the truck who would help with a move, pull someone out of sand or mud, fix what was broken, or simply offer a steady presence and a listening ear. He cared deeply for those close to him and always sought to make them feel supported.
Above all, Mike lived for his children, who were the center of his world. Seven months before his passing, he became a grandfather to his granddaughter Jamie and was filled with pride and joy, already looking forward to the day he could buy her a motorcycle. He shared a loving marriage of twenty-five years with his wife and best friend, Nicole, and the couple had recently celebrated their anniversary with a cherished trip to the Bahamas.
He is survived by his wife Nicole; his children Paige (28), Dylan (24), and Ryan (20); his granddaughter Jamie (7 months); his son-in-law Tim; his mother Dee; his brothers Don Van Cura and Timothy Ott; his sisters Lonnie Van Cura and Christine Ingle; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He also shared a close bond with his dear friend Scott Narvell and Scott’s family, including his wife Rael and their son Maddox.
