Michael J. Hartwell

We are sad to announce that on March 5, 2026, at the age of 69, Michael J. Hartwell of Mason City, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Hartwell and Geraldine Hartwell (Moon); and his brothers, Larry Hartwell and Bruce Hartwell. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Nyah Edds (Darien), Leah Sierens (Bradley), Austin Gansen, Carson Hartwell, Brinley Hartwell, Kilah Ostercamp and C. J. Ostercamp; and his children, Kristy Meinders (Shayne), Eric Hartwell (Patty) and Keri Ostercamp (Corey). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Major Erickson Funeral Home (111 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
