Michael J. Campanella, 70, of Bethlehem Township, passed away on March 12, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest Campus in Salisbury Township. Born in Philadelphia on July 24, 1955, he was the son of Helen B.M. (McGuire) Campanella of Hellertown and the late Michael J. Campanella. He was the devoted husband of the late Kay A. (Mowrey) Campanella, who passed away on December 20, 2013.
Mike worked for 29 years in the BOF department at the former Bethlehem Steel. He later co-owned Mike’s Kid’s Doggie Shop in Hellertown and worked as a shuttle driver for Faulkner in Bethlehem. A 1974 graduate of the Saucon Valley School District, he was a longtime member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 and the Democratic Club, both of Hellertown. He was an avid fan of Penn State and Philadelphia sports teams and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving mother, Helen; his children, Jaclyn C. Nowicki and her husband Jeffery of Chatham, New Jersey, and Jason M. Campanella and his wife Erica of Media, Pennsylvania; his sister, Janice A. Campanella-Repnyek of Bethlehem Township; and his five cherished grandchildren, Brinley, Emrie, Hadley, Elle, and Roman. He was predeceased by his sister, Liza Marie Campanella.
