"Mike" Mackor Sr., 80, of Windham, NH, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on February 17, 1946, in Lawrence, MA, to the late John Mackor and Germaine (Verrette).After high school, Mike found his calling to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Alongside his fellow Marines, Mike stood guard at both the White House and the Pentagon until his honorable discharge. He later pursued his passion for history and archaeology, attending Merrimack College and California University of Pennsylvania. Mike was a lifelong history buff and always continued to read and learn about current events.Mike was a hard worker. His entrepreneurial spirit and skill in carpentry led to many years of impressive projects. Mike could do just about anything you asked him to do, and he found true joy in his work, taking great pride in his accomplishments. He always had a story or a joke to share. Mike loved to laugh, enjoyed movies, and never turned down ice cream.Mike is survived by his children, of whom he was incredibly proud: Kimberly Gavran (Darrin) of Pennsylvania and Kristin Ambrosino (Dr. John) of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Sarah Miller-Connor (Sean), AnnaLee Gavran, and Molly Gavran; and his siblings, Jeffrey Mackor (Linda), Gloria Little (Mark), John Mackor (Ferne), Stacey Morin (Gregory), and Michele Duda (Walter). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his children, Michael Mackor and Amy Mackor, who left us far too soon.Per Mike's wishes, services will be private for the family.
