Michael Henri Shelton

Michael Henri Shelton was born on November 10, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas, and passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 78.

He spent his childhood and young adulthood in Morgan City, Louisiana, after his family relocated there. A graduate of Morgan City High School, class of 1965, Michael attended Nicholls State University before enlisting in the United States Army. His time in the military deepened his commitment to service, which he continued as a police officer with the Morgan City Police Department and later as a Reserve Deputy with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was known for his dedication and his genuine desire to help others.

In his professional life, Michael found his true calling in alarm system sales. He built trusted relationships with customers during his years with Terry’s Alarms, Interface Security Systems, and TSS Alarm, retiring after a long and successful career.

Above all, Michael was a devoted family man. He shared 56 loving years with his wife, Nancy, and took great joy in his role as father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He especially cherished family trips to Disney World, where his enthusiasm as Mickey Mouse’s biggest fan created countless happy memories. He will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and the deep love he showed for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Evelyn Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Shelton of Pineville; son, Heath Shelton (Debbie) of Dry Prong; sisters, Priscilla Bye, Colleen Kahn, and Kandi Theriot (Mickey); grandchildren, Gaven Shelton (Hailey) of Pineville, Haiden Luke (Aaron) of Echo, Gage Shelton of Dry Prong, Devon Barron of Pineville, and Hunter Tate of Dry Prong; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Shelton, Lincoln Shelton, and Jade Barron; and many extended family members and friends.
