Michael Gordon Munhall

Michael Gordon Munhall, age 70, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at his home on March 11, 2026. Born on October 15, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Jack and Jacquelyn (Krejci) Munhall, Mike grew up in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1973. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Auto Mechanics from Southeast Community College - Milford Technical Campus in 1975.

Mike spent his career as a skilled auto mechanic, working for many years at Bridgestone-Firestone before joining Bellevue Auto & Tire, where he eventually retired. On February 12, 1982, he married Linda Davis in Plattsmouth. Together they raised four sons—Ryan, Marcus, Nate, and Brandon—and though they later divorced, Mike and Linda remained close friends throughout their lives.

He was an active member of the Plattsmouth Eagles Club for many years and served in several leadership roles, including as President. While his sons were young, Mike was deeply involved in Boy Scouts. He loved NHRA and NASCAR racing, enjoyed collecting, and took pride in growing cherry tomatoes in his bucket garden. Above all, he cherished attending his grandchildren’s sports and activities, where his proud presence and enthusiastic cheering were always felt.

Mike is survived by his sons Ryan (Wendi) Munhall of Omaha, Marcus (Brittany) Munhall of Plattsmouth, Nate (Amanda) Munhall of St. James, Missouri, and Brandon (Chelsea) Munhall of Plattsmouth; his daughter Jen (Dave) Busch of Burwell; 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sisters Lyn Batten and Lori Munhall; and his former wife and friend, Linda Davis of Plattsmouth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jacquelyn Munhall, his brother-in-law Don Batten, and his granddaughter Rebecca Busch.
