September 24, 1944— March 7, 2026
Heyburn, ID
Michael Emery Bryan of Heyburn passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him. A lifelong rancher and devoted family man, Michael was a loving husband, father, papa, pops, and friend whose warmth and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved being outdoors, riding horses, and driving his truck, Connie’s Pride. He never met a stranger and approached life with friendliness, humor, and a deep sense of responsibility.
Born in Albion, Idaho, to Clayton Arthur Bryan and Mary Katherine (Sears) Bryan, Michael was the oldest of four children and a protective big brother to Pat, Linda, and Barbara. He completed his formal education in the eighth grade and continued learning through experience, serving honorably in the U.S. National Guard from January 29, 1962, to September 24, 1965. He became an accomplished rancher, cattle buyer and seller, and auctioneer, graduating from the Western College of Auctioneering in Montana in 1982. Hard work defined much of his life, but his greatest joy was always his family.
On May 28, 1962, Michael married Connie Louise Wickel at the Burley Courthouse. Together they raised eight children: Carma Koyle, Michael Emery Bryan Jr. (Jody), Ty Bryan (Chris), Hollie Bryan Fisher (Jeff), James Bryan (Susan), Treg Bryan (Amber), Danielle Bryan Turney (Austin), and Leslie Bryan (Austin). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Courtney, Shilo, Chelsie, Kendra, Shelby, Mikka, Kade, Clayton, Cody, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Garrett, Braeden, Brandt, Gage, Emery, Graden, T.C., Riggin, and Lyndon; and twelve great-grandchildren. Michael was happiest surrounded by his children and grandchildren, often telling his grandsons that if they needed a finger, he would give them his hand, and if they needed a hand, he would give them his arm.
Michael Emery Bryan lived a life defined by love, hard work, and an unwavering belief in the good of every person he cared about. He never held a grudge and was a man of his word. From his early days in Albion to his years as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he touched countless lives through his time, stories, laughter, and dedication. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, the land he loved, and the many friendships he nurtured throughout his journey.
