Michael Edward Foley, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on March 6, 2026. Born on March 4, 1948, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Francis Claire and Anne (Mullins) Foley, he lived a life marked by quiet dedication and deep affection for his family.
Michael proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant at Little Rock Air Force Base, where he worked on the Titan II missile program. After his military service, he continued his career as an electrician with the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement. He was a devoted son, father, and brother who cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He found joy in family gatherings, grilling steaks, sharing stories, and simply spending time with those he loved.
His hobbies included trips to Petit Jean Mountain, bird watching, playing darts, watching television, dining out, visiting the casino, and enjoying a well-earned daily nap. A passionate sports fan, he especially loved baseball and the Detroit Tigers, maintaining a longstanding annual bet with a close friend with whom he spoke often.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Patrick Foley; and his sister, Maryanne Birr (Foley). He is survived by his loving children, Renee (John) Williams, Brian (Penny) Foley, and Erin Foley; six grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Matthew, Madison, Alyssa, and Connor; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Oliver, and Kenlee; and two brothers, Paul Foley and Robert Meckler.
