Michael Nally ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery on Mar. 4, 2026.Michael Douglas NallyJune 19, 1967 – February 28, 2026With heavy hearts - but with our ears still ringing - we announce that Michael, known to family and friends as "Mike," passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 58, presumably to start the ultimate mosh pit in the afterlife and finally provide some heavenly intervention to the Dallas Cowboys.Born in Evansville, Indiana, to Bill and Peggy Nally, Mike was a force of nature from the very beginning, defined by his lifelong passion for heavy metal music. He was known for his signature backwards Dallas Cowboys hats and the many reminders to those around him that everything was "all gooood."A lifelong devotee of heavy metal and hard rock, Mike found beauty in distortion and peace in the power chord. Whether he was in the front row at a festival or blasting Metallica or Stone Sour in the garage, music wasn't just a hobby - it was his heartbeat. He lived life at maximum volume.Maximum love - unwavering for his family and friends.Maximum commitment - always willing to help anyone in need.Maximum spirit - as unyielding as the heavy metal he loved.Maximum loyalty - never once admitting that the Dallas Cowboys are a horrible team.Mike is survived by his daughters Holli Dennison (Justin) and Hayley Stockhoff (Michael); and five grandchildren; his significant other, Tonya (Destinee and Faith). He is also survived by his brothers Richard (Casey, Samantha, and Amanda) and Brian (Little Brian); his sister Gina (Tara and Jami); and a loud and loving extended family and band of friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Peggy Nally, and by his brother, Billy Nally (Mona).A head banging celebration of life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home in Evansville, IN, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m. The family asks that you come dressed in your favorite rock or metal band T shirt or music festival clothing. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may donate to the memorial at Sunset Funeral Home in Evansville, IN.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Michael, please visit our floral store. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
