July 1, 1952— March 13, 2026
Albion, IA
Michael Davis, age 73, of Albion, passed away on Friday, March 13th, at the Unity Point Marshalltown.
No formal services will be held per his request. He will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Mike.
Born on July 1st, 1952, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Lloyd and Marian (Manion) Davis. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and later served our country honorably in the United States Navy.
On March 27th, 1978, he was united in marriage to Kathy Baker in Marshalltown. They shared nearly 49 precious years together. Mike was employed for many years at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens as groundskeeper and equipment handler. He knew the cemetery like the back of his hand and gave every family the dignity and care they deserved. All those laid to rest under his watchful eye were given his solemn vow of caring. Mike was also a proud US Veteran and member of the American Legion.
He and Kathy moved to Colorado for six years to enjoy nature. Bears would often be in their yard as well as many other animals. A neighbor who was illegally keeping exotic animals in their garage had a wallaby break out which was quite a site for Mike- almost thinking he saw a pink elephant. Kathy finally believed him when it appeared in the paper the next day.
Surviving is his family and his cat who he treasured.
In death he rejoined his parents- seeing his mom who died suddenly in 1968- and his brother Gary.
