Goldberg, 77, passed away on March 14, 2026.Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose deep love for family carried into every part of his life, including his long career as a financial advisor. Born in New York, New York, and raised in the Bronx, he later lived in Springfield before moving to Somerset in 2013. Michael spent 40 years as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Short Hills, retiring in December 2025. He was a former board member of Temple Sha'arey Shalom in Springfield, an associate member of Hadassah, and an active member of the Canal Walk Men's Club and the Jewish Heritage Club.In his spare time, Michael enjoyed traveling, following current events, attending theatre, supporting Israel, and celebrating Jewish holidays through synagogue life and community. Above all, he treasured time with his family-entertaining, socializing with friends, and making special memories with his wonderful grandchildren. He also loved spending time in Florida, particularly in Boynton Beach and Sanibel. He was truly a mensch. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.He was predeceased by his brother, Arnold Goldberg, in 2025 and sister in law Joan Goldberg.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith (Zerring) Goldberg; son Zachary (Ilana) and their children Oliver and Zoe; daughter Ashley Smith (Steven) and their children Jason and Aaron; daughter Shaina Sherman (Andrew) and their children Joseph and Nora; and niece Katie Taylor (Scott, deceased) and their children Lilah and Luke.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Temple Beth El in Hillsborough. Interment will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, New York. Arrangements are by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, Somerville.Donations may be made to Hadassah (hadassah.org) or Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties (jewishfamilysvc.org).
