Michael Anthony Maggio, a cherished companion, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on December 22, 1954, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Joseph and Theresa (Bennett) Maggio, he grew up in the Bronx, where he attended Cardinal Hayes High School and later graduated from Iona College. His professional life included a successful career in business as a Telecommunications Manager at both IBM and AT&T.
Family was the cornerstone of Michael’s life. He is survived by his loving companion, Maryann, and his children: Michael Maggio (Jill), Lisa Schlosser (Ben), Nicole Maggio, and Joseph Maggio (Alyssa). He took great pride in his grandchildren, Rocco, Chase, Grayson, Parker, Beckett, and Quinn, and cherished every moment spent with them. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph Maggio, Peter Maggio, Maureen Zinzer (Chris), and Tara Kraus (Rudy), as well as his brother-in-law, Dave Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Ritchie.
A devout Christian, Michael’s faith guided him throughout his life, shaping his belief in the goodness of people and the love of God. An avid sports fan, he passionately followed the New York Jets and New York Yankees and shared that enthusiasm with his family. He also held dear the simple pleasure of visiting the beach during his years living in North Carolina.
Michael’s legacy is one of unwavering love, steadfast faith, and deep dedication to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
