Michael Anthony Lobato, known affectionately as Mickey and Mikey, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2026, at the age of 20. Born and raised between Taos, New Mexico, and San Luis, Colorado, Michael brought light and laughter to everyone who knew him. His sense of humor, infectious laugh, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He was deeply determined to be a good father and a steadfast protector to those he loved.

Michael embraced life with an adventurous spirit. He found joy in fishing, hiking, exploring national parks, hunting, and taking road trips, often pausing to capture the beauty of sunsets in photographs. His warm smile and kind heart will be remembered by the many family members and friends he cherished throughout New Mexico and Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father Michael, grandmother Regina, cousin Ernesto, uncle Gene, and great-grandparents Eugene “Buddy” Lobato, Ernest and Mary Sandoval, and Mary Sanchez.

Michael is survived by his children, Eugene and Ehlani; the mother of his children, Marisol; his mother, Esrellita; stepfather, Julian; siblings, Aniah, Serenity, and Jayden; grandparents, Barbara and Edward; great-grandmother, Josie; uncle Gilbert, with whom he shared a special bond; cousins Remejio and Romelio, whom he regarded as little brothers; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory with love.
